Looks like they'll be servicing this "hit" to the already limited inspirational format. It will be interesting to see if their publicity group, the media collective,  can get this song out there, or not. The media collective is home to many bigger christian acts, so they do stand a chance.

Currently, it's off to a slow start....

I'm not surprised that this is the first single.

I think it sounds a lot like 2005-2006 Caedmon's Call.

I think it sounds a lot like 2005-2006 Caedmon's Call.

That's not a compliment, is it?

It sounds very CCM-ish to me, but I do like Andy's harmony underneath it (and the two bass parts are pretty cool), and I guess they had to throw a bone to CCM radio.

Yeah, in my mind, this is definitely a CCM-ish track.  If it gets played, then good for them.  I'm betting that the whole album doesn't sound like this.

No, not a compliment.  We'll see...  I'm sure i'll buy the album.  But this song is not my favorite CC song ever.

I'm with Stuipd!

i really like this song.  and it's not the one that i thought would be the radio song.  there's one that's MUCH more ccm than this one is.

I gave (most of it) a listen on their myspace.  It stopped toward what I assume was the end of the song, so I think I heard most of it.

On each CC album, Cliff's songs have always been my least favorite.  They're not inherently bad per se, just Danielle and Derek's voices are better and more interesting, respectively.  If this is indeed one of the "lesser" songs on the new album, though, I think I will enjoy it quite a bit because I was pleasantly surprised.  Hearing that it was a typical CCM song, I'd feared the worst, but I thought that it was a nicely restrained song production-wise.  The melody is good and simple and the only thing that really stands out as flashy is the little organ solo, but those are always cool.  Also, the count off was a nice touch.

It's got me looking forward to the album even more now, so that's good.

But tell me, those who have heard: is the rest of the album really better?

For what its worth, the version on the MySpace page is a freaking rough mix from about halfway into the recording.  I don't know why it's up there, it shouldn't be.

Glad for those of you who like the tune, and for those that don't, thanks for giving it a listen.  I hope you'll find other tracks more to your liking, and I think you will.  But hey, of course I think that.  I'll get out of the way now.

Sorry to barge in on the "the band shouldn't be here" threads...  I want you to feel free to not like stuff.  Just like I feel free to not like Cozart.   Twisted Evil

As "CCM" as Need Your Love is, I really like it. It is a fun song and I think it sits nicely behind Trouble.

P.s. Trouble is almost a prologue of sorts for me.

The full, mixed version of the song is on iTunes.  It is MUCH better than the MySpace version.  I created a thread for that a few slots below.

On a total side note, I probably frequent this board once a day.  I've been a fan since the first CD somewhere back in the 90s and I figured I might as well make my presence known.  So, just thought I'd say hi and maybe you'll see more of me.
