Anyone wanna take on updating Caedmons' wikipedia page?  I've already done some cleanup on Derek's.

the best part of derek's interview... (and of this whole fiasco as a whole..)

"... we're kind of picking up at where 40 acres left off..."

wait, so they're going to try to climb the mountain again?  they kind of fell off when they abandoned 40 Acres.

From the stuff I've heard so far, it's gonna be good...  and yeah, sweet harmonies.

I just remember the feeling I got the first time I listened to 40 Acres.  And then I remember the feeling I got when I listened to Share the Well.  It was indescribable, and I'm looking forward to that special moment with the new record.

"... we're kind of picking up at where 40 acres left off..."

and andrew's statement

"..more harmonies, less lead singer w/ bgv's"

i feel like they opened up my head and found my greatest wishes...

I thought the best part of the interview was when Andy slammed the second worship record.  But there's an even funnier clip from Neil's 30 April bootleg about that same subject.

And I'm not even all that smart.

Geof, I'm sure that you are totally right.

no team should ever celebrate being the nl central champs (st. louis included) thats like bragging that you made it 2 second base with a hooker.

Andy was pretty animated about hating that album in the conversation I had with him.  "...I mean, it has a '2' in the title, for goodness sake..."

Exactly.  I'll have to pull up that banter, but man ... I was listening to it while talking to Andy the other night coordinating on all this press-work, and I just completely lost it laughing.  Took me a minute to re-compose myself.

So Caedmon's Call is the Eagles?

Personally, I'd love to see lots of Derek-and-Andy type songs on this album.  Four vocalists is a lot.  But I think that Derek and Andy are very, very different.  There's no overlap there.  (though I'm waiting for these "haters" that Geof is predicting - I can't imagine)

But the best thing about this?  Besides a full-band version of Love Stronger than our Fear?

The four writers.  THAT will do more than anything to bring Caedmon's "back" a bit - consolidating the writing to the band and a closely related, uber-talented writer (then Tate, here Goodgame).

I think the four vocalist idea is great on the tour - because I couldn't tell you the last time I saw Caedmon's and they had all 3 vocalists.

I think this kind of does something along the lines of how it was when I first started getting into this genre.
to me it was always

Caedmon's Call then Derek Webb and Andrew Peterson and Bebo. Then came The Normals and all that jazz.

Over the past few years, it's been that Derek has been first in my book, and Caedmon's was way down at the bottom of the totem pole in CCM Land.

I hopes this makes sense to everyone else besides me.

I found this quote from the press release to be very interesting...

"Overdressed is a 12 song cd collection unlike any other Caedmon's Call record, organically acoustic with emphasis on rhythm while maintaining cleverly-written lyrics."

that's what i thought when i read it...i was like...ok seriously, that was exactly the way i would've described caedmon's records ten years ago.

is it weird that i'm just as excited about the prospect of attending a caedmon's show where i can hear the full band play thankful again, the way it's supposed to sound as i am about this new stuff?
