in Man of the house, are these lyrics describing his own life, and if so, did he have a child before he was married? cause thats what it sounds like in one of the verses.

Michael, Over on Andy's website ( www.andrewosenga.com) there's a section on his message board called "Questions for Andrew". Andy talks about this song on a thread called "A Small Question", which is down towards the bottom of the page. Hopefully that will answer your question. Nate |

yeah, he has all of his lyrics posted from his album on his site. also, kara is not a true story either. it is a bout a girl he met at a concert ( i think.. maybe young life??) and just made up a story about her.
he is usually pretty good about responding to questions.

as far as kara, he met a girl somewhere and she had a young life shirt on. he said he'd been involved with young life so he got talking to her and thought she was a cool person. then, like the next night, he went to a counting crows concert and it so happened that she was sitting right next to him. he said he'd been wanting to write a story song at that time and decided to write it with her as the character even though the story was ficticious. i hope i'm getting all the details right. i asked him about it at one of the shows on the jars/cc tour.
