Andy O's "New Mexico" so stinking convicting?
I've been floored.
(I know he's not officially part of Caedmon's Call, but this should be on this board, maybe if only because we are hoping that he'll join them)

I have deemed this a place to discuss Andy, though we could give him his own board. Yes, I love that song with a fiery passion. The whole bit about inviting the homeless guy to dinner ... whew. GFM

thinking about those Christians who were hung and burned yes for loving... and then Andy likening them to the phone polls painted a haunting picture. Nero hated the gospel so much that he'd use Christians as torches... man that's crazy, and now today I hesitate to tell others the gospel.
that's very skewed from my persective.
i know his songs are great stories, but i realize they're also a slap in the face.
good stuff.

Yeah.
I don't know how obvious the theme with the phone poles is, but there's this HUGE cross way down in that area [it's either West Texas or eastern New Mexico] that's this huge tourist trap. As Andy told it to me once, what good did the big tourist trap do when many crosses just like it held up wires that passed along all that information?
Just spiff.

Anyone ever been to the giant Jesus/cross statues in other countries. I went to the one in Torreon, Mexico. Pretty cool I must say. Kizer

If I recall correctly Andrew sings
"And they stretch along this highway" (refering to the phone poles) "like so many martyrs hung and burned for loving sheding light on Caesar's Garden and they're passing on a message sent from You" (i think refering to God) "to us here in New Mexico"
it's a very vibrant brain picture.

-Mark (who would like to hear Andy's CD) Mark: Andy has an MP3 from the demo of "New Mexico" on his Web site, andrewosenga.com. Go hit the Drawing Board. That means all of you, chumps! GFM
